Artisan Spotlight: The Masters of Italian Linen

In the hills of northern Italy, where the air is crisp and the light has a particular quality that artists have sought for centuries, a family has been weaving linen for three generations. The Conti family's mill produces some of the world's finest linen fabric, and we're honored to count them among our partners.

A Legacy of Excellence

The story begins in 1972, when Giuseppe Conti left his position at a large textile manufacturer to start his own mill. His vision was simple but radical: to produce linen of uncompromising quality, using traditional techniques that larger operations had abandoned in pursuit of efficiency.

Today, his grandson Marco continues this legacy. Walking through the mill with him, you sense immediately that this is a place where time moves differently—where the rhythm of the looms sets the pace, and where quality is never sacrificed to speed.

The ÉLAN Partnership

Our relationship with the Conti mill began over fifteen years ago. Marie discovered them during a sourcing trip, drawn by the exceptional hand of their fabric and the obvious care with which it was made. Today, they produce exclusively for us a signature linen that you'll find in many of our most beloved pieces.
